• BURLINGTON TOURISM - In 1798, Mohawk Chief Joseph Brant was granted land by the British during the American Revolutionary War in what is now Burlington. Bordering Lake Ontario, Burlington is notable for its waterfront park, gardens, shopping and dining, as well as a variety of architectural styles. Burlington holds annual events such as the Winter Carnival in late January, the Sound of Music Festival on Father’s Day Weekend, Ribfest on Labour Day Weekend and the Festival of Lights in December.
